Hair Accessories: The Pros And The Cons
Today, hair accessories not a part of everyday style and care should be taken as to when and how to use them so that you will not look dated.
While different occasions will call for different hair accessories, a good rule of thumb to follow is to choose the sedate accessory over one that could not go unnoticed in a crowd of a few hundred or a few thousand. While choosing the right one can be tricky, there are a few pointers that you can follow to help you pick the perfect hair accessories to complete your look. Here are just a few:
Work. In many work situations, you will likely have to wear your hair up. No matter if your type of employment requires it or you simply like to change your look now and then, wearing your hair up calls for the right accessory to do the job. The number one rule to finding the right embellishments for work is to avoid banana clips at all costs. I mean, who still makes these things?
It was then that I came up with a wreath of ribbons in satin, organza, and other decorative ribbons that have been put on a ribbon wreath specifically designed for a flower girl. This made it far easier to either bobby pin to their hair, or even to tie on with a ribbon. We have come up with a light and beautiful hair accessory for any flower girl which can be made in all white, or with a few color accents to match whatever dress you desire .
Keep things unexpected to make an impact. Wear a thick headband near your hairline, instead of pushed back at the crown, for a high fashion effect. One barrette is boring; two adds visual interest when they don’t match perfectly. Pin back the hair behind your ear with two small clips that are similar, but not the same, or opt for the new chain barrettes, which look refined.
If you’ve got curly hair or a round face, avoid any hair accessory that’s too big (it will appear to add volume, which you don’t need). A simple metal comb or headband will contrast wild hair or cherubic features. Make your own hair accessory by tying a piece of lace around a simple ponytail or placing a jeweled brooch that you already own in your hair.
For avoiding damage you always need to use an accessory which is smoother and does not have too many places where hair could get entangled and thereby broken. You will find many accessories created for regular use are a lot more comfortable for use than those created for special occasions.
After all, there are valuable lessons to be learned from these diverse women of hair accessory fame. Persistence seems to be the name of the game, but following your dreams is only so good as your business plan and the people you choose to work with. Childhoods full of creative pursuits gave these women a platform on which to build their visions.
