Well, I'm doing a little update here :) I'd like to tell you about my new favorite item for all thinning hair women! This is the Derma Roller. Bbasically the Derma Roller is a rolling device covered in small needles. It looks like this:

Derma Roller

Now, it might look a bit painful to use, but I assure you, it isn't! The needles are so fine that they produce more of a "tickling" sensation than anything else.

So, how does the Derma Roller work?

Basically, it creates "damage" to the surface of the skin. The damage isn't damage that you can actually feel, but the body detects it, and immediately sends healing factors through the bloodstream to deal with the damage. Basically, you're increasing bloodflow (and additional nutrients) to your scalp which helps to stimulate hair growth.

My first introduction to the Derma Roller was as an aid for stretch marks (the same principle applies, the body detects "damage", goes and fixes it, and at the same time rebuilds collagen and elastin where it's missing and thus improves the stretch marks), and I soon learned that it can be used for thinning hair, scarring, wrinkles, and, well, just about any skin condition that you might want to improve. Wow!

Needless to say, I purchased one ASAP!

So, if you are a woman who suffers from thinning hair, I recommend you have a look at the Derma Roller website and learn how it can help you not only with your hair, but with other cosmetic problems that may be of concern to you!

Other Great Resources for Thinning Hair Women

First: check out the book Unravel the Mysteries of Female Hair Loss, and second: try Provillus. I used both of these in my quest to restore my hair to its former glory after I lost a large quantity of my own hair!

Alongside these, I used my common sense in treating my hair loss. This means, I had to work out WHY I was losing my hair! In my case it was mostly hormonal (after giving birth to my third child), but there was certainly a stress related factor there too (having three kids under the age of four will do that to you), and I wasn't eating well. All these factors combined contributed to my hair loss.

You may have different reasons for losing your hair. We all have different lives and different problems. However, for many women there are common causes for hair loss, the vast majority of which do have a solution.
